Russia accuses Ukraine of violating Easter truce
1 min readThe Russian defence ministry said on Sunday that Ukrainian troops are violating the Easter truce while Russian forces are observing the declared ceasefire.
Civilians, including a child, were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Kursk region, the Ministry was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 9 that he had announced a 32-hour ceasefire over a period of Orthodox Easter, which falls on April 12 this year.
The ceasefire would be in effect from 4 pm on Saturday to midnight on Sunday evening, the Kremlin said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who had previously made repeated proposals for a ceasefire that were turned down by Moscow, said that Ukraine would act in accordance with the Easter truce.
