US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, saying a “whole civilisation” could collapse within hours while suggesting that “complete and total regime change” may already be underway.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump wrote:
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?”

He added: “We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”

Trump described the unfolding situation as one of the most significant moments in modern history and indicated that developments expected overnight could reshape Iran’s future.

The reference to “47 years” appears to point to the period since Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which transformed the country’s political system and strained relations with Washington.
