Iran carried out a retaliatory strike on Sunday, in response to earlier attacks on its strategic facilities, targeting a plant in Tel Aviv described as housing hazardous chemicals.

An Iranian missile hit the site, sending clouds of black smoke rising into the air, according to reports.

Authorities declared a state of emergency in Tel Aviv following the strike and urged residents to remain indoors.

Iran said the missile struck the Beersheva plant with precision, raising fears about the potential release of highly dangerous chemicals.

Israel imposed a ban on reporting about the targeted facility.
