Imran Khan’s eyesight improves after second injection: PIMS
2 min readThe Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Tuesday issued a medical report confirming improvement in the eyesight of the PTI founding chairman following a follow-up examination at Adiala Jail.
According to a PIMS statement, a medical board comprising ophthalmology specialists examined the former prime minister on March 3 at the jail. The board reported a “significant improvement” in his vision.
The report said he was administered a second anti-VEGF injection in the affected eye as part of his ongoing treatment. His vision is now “considerably better,” the statement added.
The medical board included eye specialists from PIMS and Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, including retina specialist Dr Nadeem Qureshi, along with PIMS ophthalmologists Dr Arif and Dr Ausal.
A vehicle equipped with modern medical equipment was also brought to the jail to facilitate the examination. Doctors at the jail hospital assisted the visiting team.
The PIMS spokesperson said the board has recommended continuation of the previously prescribed treatment plan. After completing the follow-up check-up, the medical team left the facility.

It was also a family and lawyers’ visiting day at the jail.
However, no other family members or legal representatives were initially allowed to meet Imran Khan.
PTI founder’s three sisters — Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khan — along with party leaders and lawyers, including Salman Akram Raja, staged a sit-in at Dahgal checkpoint after being denied access. They later dispersed after Iftar.
Sources said a list of six names had been submitted to jail authorities a day earlier.
Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi also met her family members, including her sister-in-law Mehrunnisa and daughter Mubashira Sheikh, in the jail’s conference room.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the health of both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
