Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday announced that Rs10 billion worth of modern safety and security equipment would be provided to FC Balochistan.

The chief minister made the announcement during a visit to the Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that 47 types of advanced security equipment would be provided to help the force combat terrorism effectively.

She emphasised that people of Balochistan are not alone and that Punjab stands shoulder to shoulder with them.

“Providing these funds is not a favour; it is the right of Balochistan. Strengthening the capacity of FC personnel is a need of the hour,” she said.

She also stressed that ensuring the safety of FC personnel is the responsibility of the government, and that the sacrifices of martyrs will never be forgotten.

Maryam Nawaz stated that those who seek to weaken the country and the nation are the country’s enemy.

She urged youth not to become a tool in the hands of extremists and stressed the need to confront fifth-generation warfare firmly.

Highlighting security measures in Punjab, the chief minister said the province has witnessed a significant drop in crime, with surveillance systems active across the province through CCTV.

She warned that those targeting places of worship would be dealt with decisively and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strong and unambiguous action against terrorism.

The chief minister also called on the youth of Balochistan to play a leading role in the province’s development and said that peace and stability in Balochistan remain a priority for the entire country.
