Fifa President Gianni Infantino to visit Pakistan soon
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that he will visit Pakistan soon to work on promoting football across the country.
Speaking to Pakistan TV Digital during the 56th World Economic Forum annual meeting, Infantino said he had promised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that he would visit Pakistan soon.
He praised the new president of the Pakistan Football Federation for doing “tremendous work.”
Infantino called Pakistan a “great football country” and added, “We want Pakistan to be a top contender at the Asian level, and we are working towards it.”
Last month, FIFA included Pakistani politician Syeda Amna Batool in its reform committee.
Previously, in November 2025, FIFA Senior Vice President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa visited Pakistan for three days to discuss the development of football infrastructure.
Football is increasingly popular among Pakistani youth, with growing interest in school tournaments, local competitions, and community club events encouraging participation nationwide.
