At least five people were burnt to death after two vehicles collided and caught fire in Balochistan’s Washuk district on Friday, officials said.

According to the district administration, the accident occurred in the Rakhshan Badrang area when two Zambad vehicles carrying Iranian oil crashed into each other, triggering a massive blaze.

Both vehicles were engulfed in flames soon after the collision, leaving no survivors among those on board.

Rescue officials said the deceased belonged to Washuk and Noshki districts, including the Karichi area of Washuk. Due to the intensity of the fire, the victims were burnt beyond recognition.

The bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Basima, for identification and completion of legal formalities.

Police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, while local authorities termed the incident one of the deadliest road accidents in the area in recent months.
