Pakistan Naval Academy commissions 124th Midshipmen, 32nd SSC course

90 midshipmen, 34 SSC cadets pass out in Karachi ceremony

The Pakistan Naval Academy held the commissioning parade of the 124th Midshipmen and 32nd Short Service Commission (SSC) Course at its Karachi campus, marking the passing out of 90 midshipmen and 34 SSC cadets, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Commander Royal Bahrain Naval Force Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohamed Ebrahim Al Bin Ali graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Upon arrival, he was received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

Addressing the parade, Rear Admiral Al Bin Ali, an alumnus of the Pakistan Naval Academy, said it was an honour to review the ceremony at his alma mater. He praised the Pakistan Navy’s professional competence and described it as a key maritime force in the region.

He highlighted the academy’s longstanding tradition of providing high-quality training to cadets from friendly countries. The parade included cadets from Bahrain, Iraq, Djibouti, Sri Lanka and Turkiye.

The chief guest also reaffirmed the enduring ties, shared values and commitment to mutual progress between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Prizes were awarded to outstanding cadets during the ceremony.

Midshipman Muhammad Uzair Abbas received the Sword of Honour for overall best performance, while Midshipman Shahab Ahmed won the Academy Dirk.

Officer Cadet Umar Mukhtar of Pakistan and Officer Cadet Aldhahabi Fahad Husam Fareed of Iraq were awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medals.

Officer Cadet Syed Saad Shahid from the SSC Course received the Commandant Gold Medal. The Proficiency Banner was awarded to Quarterdeck Squadron.

Senior military officers, civil dignitaries and parents of the cadets attended the ceremony.
