Gold prices rise sharply in Pakistan as global rates rally
Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Friday, mirroring a strong rally in the global market.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) said the price of gold increased by Rs10,700, pushing the per-tola rate to Rs454,262.
The 10-gram price climbed by Rs9,174 to Rs389,456.
A day earlier, gold gained Rs500 to settle at Rs443,562 per tola.
International bullion prices jumped by $107, with gold trading at $4,319 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
Silver also recorded an uptick, rising by Rs232 to reach Rs6,684 per tola.
