The Sindh Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Army and condemning statements deemed critical of the country’s security forces.

The resolution was moved by Provincial Law Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, who said the House strongly rejects any remarks against the military and stands firmly with the armed forces.

“This Assembly condemns statements that undermine national security,” he said.

“Our security forces have played a major role in safeguarding Pakistan’s reputation.”

Lanjar added that unfounded criticism is often directed at the security institutions, despite their continued sacrifices for the country’s stability.

Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi endorsed the resolution, saying the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) fully supports the move.

“We stand with the Pakistan Army,” he said. “Every Pakistani is proud of our armed forces, who have made the country resilient and strong.”

The resolution was passed without objection, reflecting rare cross-party consensus in support of the military.
