Olly Murs celebrates new album with lively Abu Dhabi SailGP performance
British pop sensation Olly Murs marked the launch of his eighth studio album, Knees Up, with a vibrant performance at the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2025 Season Grand Final.
The platinum-selling artist headlined Saturday’s Après-Sail celebration at Mina Zayed, sharing his excitement over the reception of his first album in three years.
“The reaction to the new album has been brilliant,” Murs said. “It’s been a really mad couple of weeks promoting it. Getting a top five album in the UK is a real delight.”
Knees Up follows 2022’s Marry Me and features singles like the ska-influenced Bonkers, a collaboration with Ed Drewett, Sky Adams, and James New, alongside lead single Save Me.
Murs’ Abu Dhabi performance, just eight days after the album release, offered fans a mix of his new material and a decade of chart-topping hits.
“I’ve got the whole repertoire tonight, all the hits plus a medley from my wedding,” he said ahead of the show.
The 45-minute set at the SailGP Race Stadium showcased Murs’ energetic performance style and delighted fans attending the Grand Final weekend.
Murs also reminisced about his previous visit to Yas Island with a friend and Heart Radio co-host Mark Wright, saying, “We did climbing, go-karting, and rollercoasters, it’s such a beautiful country!”
Wright also performed at Sunday’s Après-Sail celebration, closing the season-deciding championship event.
“I’ve never really watched this before, so I’m honoured and excited to see the event unfold,” Murs added.
