Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to join NFC meeting, claims province denied funds for seven years

Province’s rightful share remains unpaid for seven years: Sohail Afridi

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced attending the National Finance Commission meeting on December 04 to voice the province’s concerns regarding the fair share.

He announced his decision after the meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) parliamentary party.

Addressing a joint press conference with Provincial Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, Afridi said that although the tribal districts were merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018, the province has not received its share of funds.

He claimed that from 2018 to 2025, the province’s entitlement under the NFC award, amounting to Rs 1,350 billion, has been consistently denied.

“The NFC award is being distributed among three provinces, yet Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rightful share remains unpaid for seven years,” Afridi said.
