JI draws massive crowd at Minar-e-Pakistan rally as leaders call for ‘system change’

Hafiz Naeem, Sirajul Haq and religious leaders demand end to dynastic politics, establishment interference and interest-based economy

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) drew tens of thousands of supporters to Minar-e-Pakistan on the second day of its nationwide public gathering titled “Badal Do Nizam” (Change the System), with participants arriving from all provinces despite cold weather.

Men, women and professionals from various walks of life attended the sessions, which featured addresses by JI Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, former party chief Sirajul Haq, and leaders of Islamic movements from around the world.

FPCCI leader and UBG Patron-in-Chief S.M. Tanveer, Mian Anjum Nisar and other chamber officials were also present.

Throughout the day, multiple thematic sessions were held on local governance, labour rights, agriculture and the broader economic situation, with experts presenting recommendations. A “Charter of Economy” resolution was also tabled.

The day concluded with a “nasheed night,” featuring “naats”, Islamic poetry and anthems.

Addressing different sessions, Hafiz Naeem reiterated JI’s call for dismantling what he described as a flawed system rooted in dynastic politics, undue establishment interference and an interest-based economic order.

He said meaningful reform required structural change and public mobilisation.

The party is scheduled to announce a unified action plan on Sunday, the final day of the gathering.
