Pakistan, Kazakhstan conclude joint counterterrorism exercise ‘Dostarym-V’ in Cherat

The two-week drill strengthened joint counterterrorism skills and reaffirmed military cooperation between the two nations

The two-week Pakistan-Kazakhstan joint counterterrorism exercise “Dostarym-V” concluded at Cherat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with troops from both countries demonstrating high standards of professionalism and tactical skills, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to the ISPR, combat teams from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Kazakhstan’s Special Forces took part in the exercise, which began on October 14.

The joint training was aimed at enhancing mutual skills, coordination, and procedures in counterterrorism operations.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Special Operations School Cherat as the chief guest, while the Ambassador of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Defence Attaché also witnessed the event.

The ISPR said the Dostarym-V exercise not only refined operational techniques but also further strengthened the historic military-to-military ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
