The dumper driver involved in a tragic accident on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas road has said that he was unaware of how the motorcycle ended up under his vehicle.

In a video statement, dumper driver Firdous Khan said, “I don’t know how the motorcycle came under my dumper. I was driving slowly”.

After the incident, which claimed the lives of a brother and his sister, angry bystanders thrashed the dumper driver before handing him over to the police.

Firdous Khan stated that he had all the necessary documents, including the dumper’s papers and his driving licence. But, he said, after the accident, enraged people snatched his mobile phone, cash, and vehicle keys.

“I don’t know the people who assaulted me,” the driver added.

The Karachi police have launched an investigation into the incident and have taken the dumper into custody to collect more evidence.
