India’s military leadership faces fresh embarrassment as Lieutenant General D.S. Rana has been abruptly removed from his key post and reassigned to the remote Andaman and Nicobar Command, also known as ‘Kala Pani’ — a move widely seen as punitive.

According to international media reports, Lt Gen Rana has been relieved of his duties as Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). Sources link the abrupt transfer to the recent leak of sensitive RAW documents, which were reportedly accessed and made public by The Resistance Front (TRF), causing international embarrassment for Indian intelligence operations.

The leaked documents allegedly exposed the fabrication of high-level military operations, including the controversial Pahalgam mission. The revelations have sparked intense scrutiny over the role of Indian armed forces and intelligence agencies in staging false flag operations.

Sources say internal investigations revealed that the leaked files were under Lt Gen Rana’s custody and were traced back to his office before reaching the media. As a result, orders were issued for his immediate removal from the DIA.

The reassignment to Andaman and Nicobar, known for its isolation, harsh conditions, limited medical facilities, and psychological toll, is being seen as a form of disgrace and demotion. Observers note that such a move could deepen the internal pressure on India’s military and political leadership.
