Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts rain, snowfall in upper regions nationwide
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted rain and snowfall in the upper regions of the country on Friday (today).
Also, cloudy weather with light rain or snow is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
In Karachi, light rain and snowfall are predicted for some areas in the upper regions.
The PMD predicted that “thunder and strong winds along with rain and snowfall” in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Battagram, Mohmand, Bajaur, and Kurram in the next 24 hours.
Islamabad is expected to experience cold weather with partly cloudy skies, and light snowfall is likely in Murree and Galyat.
On February 1, cloudy weather with light rain, wind, or light snowfall is likely in upper areas of KP, GB, Kashmir, Murree, and Galliyat. Light rain and wind may also occur at isolated places in the Pothohar region and northeast Punjab.
Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan are expected to have dry weather while Kashmir and GB might see cloudy conditions with chances of snowfall. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain dry and cold, with light rain and snowfall predicted in the upper districts over the next 24 hours.
On Sunday and Monday, cloudy weather is expected in Kashmir, Murree, and Galliyat with plain areas to experience cold weather.
The lowest recorded minimum temperatures over the last 24 hours were as follows: Leh -09 degrees Celsius, Kalat -08C, Gupis -07C, Kalam -06C, Skardu -05C, Quetta and Bagrote -04C, and Malam Jabba, Astore, and Parachinar -03C.
