Shahbaz Gill, Moeed Pirzada face charges for alleged anti-state activities
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated legal proceedings against PTI leader Dr. Shahbaz Gill and YouTuber Moeed Pirzada for their alleged involvement in anti-state activities and spreading false propaganda against state institutions via social media.
Both individuals, currently residing abroad, have been charged under the PECA-2016 Cyber Crime Act following a complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Muneeb Zafar.
The FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing is actively investigating their online activities to identify potential accomplices.
The First Information Reports (FIRs) claim that Gill and Pirzada disseminated threatening videos and misleading content on platforms like TikTok, aimed at inciting hostility towards state officials and institutions.
Their actions are believed to pose a risk of provoking criminal acts against the state and disrupting public peace.
The FIRs further allege that the content shared by the accused was intended to promote an anti-state narrative, creating a distorted perception of Pakistan’s institutions.
