Louisville districts announce school opening schedule amid snowfall

Officials from several universities have yet to announce plans for Monday

Several school districts in Kentucky’s Louisville area have implemented delayed openings for Monday in response to recent snowfall, reports said.

The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) would operate on a two-hour delay, allowing time to address road conditions and ensure safe access to bus stops. but early childhood classes would be cancelled and some bus delays are anticipated.

New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated Schools would also open with a two-hour delay, noting potential delays in student pick-up times due to challenging road conditions.

The Bullitt County Public Schools and the Shelby County Public Schools confirmed they would resume in-person classes on Monday while Spencer County Public Schools would follow a similar two-hour delay.

Other districts, including Greater Clark County Schools and Clarksville Community Schools, are set to open with a two-hour delay as well.

Meanwhile, officials from Oldham County Schools and several universities, including the University of Louisville and Bellarmine University, have yet to announce their plans for Monday.
