The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s “special committee” has decided to recommend the launch of Peshawar BRT services on Khyber and Warsak roads.

It was decided during a meeting presided over by Excise Minister Khaliqur Rehman and Peshawar Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud, according to a statement. It was held to address aggravating traffic issues in the provincial capital.

The committee also proposed extending the service from Ring Road to Kohat Road via GT Road.

Once approved by the provincial government, such expansions were expected to significantly ease traffic flow on such routes and lessen the burden on adjacent roads.
