Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has launched a “sharp criticism” against the ruling party, stating that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz does not have the mandate to make unilateral decisions.

“The PML-N thinks it does not need to consult anyone. It does not have a two-thirds majority to make unilateral decisions,” he said while addressing a press conference in Larkana on Saturday.

The Sindh-ruling party has expressed its concerns over the ruling coalition’s decisions related to the VPNs registration, ministers’ attendance in the National Assembly, and equal share of power in Punjab despite being part of the ruling coalition.

Many experts have described the incumbent government as “PDM 2” and slammed it for installing a firewall and bills related to the extension of the services chiefs. They also criticise the 26th Constitutional Amendment for being passed in haste and without equal representation of committee members for the appointment of the chief justice of Pakistan.

But the PML-N has maintained that the PPP was part of the coalition despite not being part of any ministries.

“PML-N’s politics begins with motorways and ends with metro projects,” he said.

He added asserted that everyone has a fundamental right to water, criticising the government’s decision to withdraw canal water as “unilateral”. The PPP chiarman announced plans to stage protests and urged the PML-N to make decisions through consensus if they intend to govern effectively. Bilawal expressed hope that their complaints would be taken seriously.

He called on the government to seek input from the PPP and other parties when making decisions, stressing the need for dialogue to address the provinces’ grievances. Bilawal pointed out that the government has “not fulfilled” its commitments made to the PPP.

While criticising the slow internet services, Bilawal noted that the government “continuously makes excuses” regarding the internet issue. He posed a rhetorical question about what kind of “fish in the sea” only cuts Pakistan’s cable, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.

He further stressed the necessity of providing the IT sector with the same facilities that China and India offer. According to Bilawal, “Fast internet is essential for rapid development in the country.” He questioned how the government expects to attract investors with the internet service issues.

Bilawal stated that the people of Pakistan were economically distressed and called for everyone to play a role in addressing public issues. “If economic improvement is on the horizon, the benefits should reach the public.”

He also criticised the PTI founder for “frequently” changing positions, stating that there was “neither a clear ideology nor genuine interest in public issues.” He accused the party of proving its willingness to negotiate on everything.

Bhutto emphasised the need for the PTI to condemn not only the countries but also the individuals who simultaneously express support for them while speaking against Pakistan and in favour of Israel. He asserted that PTI must answer such pressing questions.
