Richard Grenell, Donald Trump’s nominee for special envoy, stated in an interview that Marco Rubio, Trump’s designated Secretary of State, is prepared to discuss Pakistan’s missile program.

In an interview with an American digital platform, Grenell emphasized that nuclear-capable countries are dealt with differently. He highlighted that Rubio is ready to address Pakistan’s missile program. He further criticized the Biden administration, claiming it failed to accomplish in four years what it’s attempting to achieve in the final 45 days.

This statement follows recent US sanctions against four Pakistani entities allegedly involved in advancing Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. The US State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, accused these entities – the National Development Complex in Islamabad and three Karachi-based firms (Akhtar & Sons, Affiliates International, and Rockside Enterprises) – of contributing to the program.

John Finer, US Deputy National Security Advisor, previously stated that Pakistan, possessing nuclear weapons, is developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of targeting locations beyond South Asia, including the US.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office responded to the sanctions, calling the US decision biased and asserting that Pakistan’s strategic capabilities aim to maintain peace and stability in South Asia.

Grenell also commented on the past Trump administration’s relationship with Pakistan’s then-leader, describing them as excellent. He drew parallels between the former Pakistani leader’s political outsider status and Trump’s, emphasizing their shared common-sense approach.

Grenell expressed a desire for the former Pakistani Prime Minister’s release from prison, citing similarities between the charges against him and those previously leveled against Trump. He suggested that the State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, had obfuscated the real issue, which is the release of the former Pakistani Prime Minister.
