A shocking incident of violence has taken place in Korangi’s Qaidabad area of Karachi, where a young woman’s head was shaved by her family after she expressed her desire for a love marriage.

According to police, the victim, Naz Fatima, a nurse at a hospital, was rescued from her home. She managed to contact her lawyer, who then informed the police, leading to a raid and her subsequent rescue.

Police stated that Naz Fatima had been held captive by her family. Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, including the victim’s grandmother, mother, father, uncle, and a neighbor. They are charged with unlawful confinement and assault.

In her statement to the police, Ms. Fatima stated that she does not wish to live with her parents and wants to marry the man she loves. She claimed that her parents opposed the marriage and that her family subjected her to violence and shaved her head.

A case has been registered at the Qaidabad police station based on Ms. Fatima’s complaint.
