A severe cold wave is gripping Pakistan, with rain and snowfall causing residents to shiver as temperatures plummet.

Many lakes and waterfalls have frozen over, while heavy fog has led to road closures across several regions.

In Balochistan, areas such as Qila Saifullah, Muslim Bagh, and Kan Mehtarzai are experiencing extreme cold, with temperatures dropping to -7 degrees Celsius, forcing residents to stay indoors.

Karachi has also recorded a low of 12 degrees Celsius, increasing the chill in the city.

The famous Khalti Lake in Ghizar has frozen solid, turning the 150-foot-deep lake into a makeshift football ground for local children.

Today, most parts of the country are expected to remain cold and dry, with particularly severe cold in mountainous areas. Dense fog is anticipated during the morning and night in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
