Jay-Z accused of raping teen alongside Diddy in civil lawsuit
Musician Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside fellow hip-hop star Sean Combs, known as Diddy, during an after-party for the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000.
The allegations were made in a civil lawsuit filed on Sunday, which Jay-Z has vehemently denied.
The updated legal complaint claims that both Jay-Z and Diddy took turns assaulting the minor, with other celebrities present who reportedly did not intervene.
Initially identified as “Celebrity A” in the complaint, Jay-Z’s name was later revealed, and he has described the lawsuit as a “frivolous” counterclaim.
In a statement released by his label, Roc Nation, Jay-Z accused the lawyer representing the plaintiff of attempting to blackmail him.
He expressed outrage over the allegations, urging the lawyer to file a criminal complaint instead of a civil one, emphasizing the seriousness of the claims.
The plaintiff’s identity remains undisclosed, but the case is expected to be litigated in court.
This lawsuit comes at a time when Diddy faces separate charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, with a criminal trial set to begin on May 5, 2025.
