PTI convoy journey through map: two routes from Hakkla to D-Chowk
The convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and former first lady Bushra Bibi from Peshawar reached Hakkla Interchange, very close to Islamabad, on the second day of its journey. From this point, the convoy has two routes to enter the federal capital.
PTI has stated that they plan to enter Islamabad via the Faizabad route, according to reports. But the route is heavily blocked with numerous obstacles and there is a significant presence of police and Rangers deployed along the way.
The second option is Margalla Avenue. During their previous approach to Islamabad, Gandapur took this route and reached near D-Chowk “very quickly.” But he later diverted to the KP House from there.
To enter Islamabad via the Faizabad route, PTI workers must first reach the 26 Number Chowrangi, from where they would enter Rawalpindi and proceed to Faizabad via IJP Road. From there, they could travel to D-Chowk through Ninth Avenue or the Islamabad Expressway, then onto Jinnah Avenue.
The Margalla Avenue route, however, approaches Islamabad from the opposite side, allowing PTI workers to bypass Faizabad entirely if they choose this path.
It remains uncertain whether PTI workers will successfully reach D-Chowk via either route, as the situation develops.
The convoy, led by Gandapur and Bibi, departed from Peshawar at 11am on November 24. Their first stop was at the motorway rest area in Swabi where supporters from other regions gathered. The convoy resumed its journey after sunset.
PTI workers encountered obstacles at the Ghazi Brotha and Haro, but by Monday morning, they successfully moved past Haro. The convoy spent the entire day navigating through Burhan Interchange and Katti Pahari.

By the evening, the convoy reached Hakkla Interchange, located near Islamabad. Here, Motorway M-14 connects with the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway M-1, with M-14 also being referred to as the CPEC route.
A separate PTI convoy had already arrived from the southern districts of KP via the M-14 route. PTI leaders announced that both convoys would merge as they advance towards Islamabad.
