Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal will be closed on Saturday, Monday
One of Karachi’s busiest roads, Shahrah-e-Faisal would be closed to all vehicles from 2am to 5am on Saturday (tomorrow) and Monday, the city’s traffic police said.
The traffic update comes as the 12th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-2024) concluded at the Karachi Expo Centre on Friday.
More than 350 high-level delegations from 55 countries — including the US, Russia, China, Turkiye, Iran, Italy, the UK, and Azerbaijan — visited the four-day show.
Some 560 defence manufacturers, 333 of them international, showcased their defence and military products, with Turkiye and China being the biggest participants. Iran and Italy participated in the arms fair for the first time.
To minimise inconvenience, they have provided alternative routes for commuters. Drivers are advised to take the Drigh Road to access the Rashid Minhas Road and the Millenium area to reach Nipa.
All traffic from Nursery to Karasaz and the airport will not be permitted on Shahrah-e-Faisal. Vehicles can turn left from Baloch Colony Bridge to access the Shaheed Millat Road.
Moreover, citizens can use the Jail Chowrangi Flyover to reach Hassan Square, Nipa, and the Millenium area via Drigh Road towards the airport.

The traffic police have urged the people to utilise alternative routes to maintain a smooth flow of traffic during this period.
