Rawalpindi police have implemented a comprehensive security plan to prevent and disperse a planned protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party on November 24th. Sources within the police department have revealed the deployment of 4,888 officers, a significant force designed to control any potential unrest.

The deployment includes 5 SPs, 21 DSPs, and 84 Inspectors and SEOs across the city. Each police station has been assigned specific points equipped with six tear gas guns and 500 tear gas shells. Officers at each point will be equipped with two 12-bore shotguns and 100 rubber bullets. A dedicated standby team will be available with additional rubber bullets and tear gas shells. Mobile phone use will be restricted for officers on duty. Officers are instructed not to carry any additional weapons beyond their assigned equipment.

Authorities are planning to prevent any PTI workers from entering Rawalpindi. Roadblocks will be established at over 40 locations in Rawal Division, with 12 special teams deployed across the area.

In Cantt Circle, 14 locations will have roadblocks and personnel stationed. Similarly, seven locations in Taxila Circle will have roadblocks erected. Major intersections, including the Brahma Interchange and Paswal Interchange, will also be blocked.

Movement will be restricted on major thoroughfares, including the M2, Old Toll Plaza, M1, Fateh Jang Toll Plaza, and the Thalian Interchange to Chakrial Interchange. Thirteen locations in the Saddar Circle will also have roadblocks.

Special teams from relevant police stations will be deployed at each Metro Bus station with equipment to ensure its security. Eight special teams will be stationed above the Metro track, equipped with tear gas shells and rubber bullets.

Two special teams each, composed of Elite Force and Dolphin Force personnel, will accompany the CPO and SSP Rawalpindi. Special police teams will also be stationed in the emergency rooms of all hospitals in Rawalpindi. A contingency plan is in place to address any emergency situations.
