Man arrested in India’s Odisha for allegedly killing wife with help of two girlfriends
A man has been arrested in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for the alleged murder of his wife, with the assistance of two of his girlfriends, after she discovered his extramarital affairs, India Today reported.
The accused, Pradyumna Kumar Das, and the two women involved have all been taken into custody.
The victim, identified as Subhashree, passed away on October 28. The situation came to light when Das brought her to a hospital in Bhubaneswar, claiming she had attempted suicide. But doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Das also reported the alleged suicide attempt to the police that same day, prompting them to register a case of unnatural death and order a post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem report revealed disturbing findings, including bruises on Subhashree’s hands and neck, and confirmed that she had died from an overdose of anesthesia. This evidence has raised serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police interrogated Pradyumna Kumar Das, who confessed to murdering his wife. He admitted to having affairs with two women and conspiring with them to kill his wife, Subhashree.
The investigation revealed that Das had been involved with both women for some time. After Subhashree discovered his infidelity, it led to frequent arguments, prompting her to stay at her parents’ house for the past eight months.
On October 28, Das lured Subhashree to the residence of one of his girlfriends, where he had obtained anesthesia injections from his accomplices, who worked at a pharmacy. Once at Rosy’s house, they forcibly administered two injections, resulting in her death.
