IAS officer Tina Dabi’s rapid fire greetings to BJP leader spark controversy
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tina Dabi has come under fire from various online communities after a video emerged showing her greeting BJP leader Satish Poonia multiple times.
In the now-viral clip, Dabi, the district collector for Rajasthan’s Barmer district, is seen bowing her head five times in just seven seconds with folded hands while addressing Poonia.
Poonia, who is the former chief of the state BJP, commented on the incident, saying, “You are bullying people while urging them to keep things clean, but you are doing good work.”
His statements were in reference to Dabi’s recent cleanliness campaign in the district, which has also garnered significant attention on social media.
Several videos show her reprimanding shopkeepers for maintaining dirty surroundings as she assessed the city’s sanitation efforts alongside administrative staff.
But her decision to greet the BJP leader multiple times in a viral video has sparked debate on social media. Many users expressed that an IAS officer of her stature “shouldn’t bend” in front of politicians, raising questions about the appropriateness of her gestures.
