Attack in Indian occupied Kashmir leaves three non-locals dead

Previously, on Friday, the body of a migrant laborer was found in Shopian district

Three non-local laborers were killed and two injured in an alleged attack in the Ganderbal district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Indian media reports, assailants opened fire on a camp of workers employed by a private company constructing a tunnel in the Gund area of the district. This resulted in the deaths of three laborers and injuries to two others.

Following the incident, police and the Indian army cordoned off the area to apprehend the attackers.

Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, expressed his reaction to the attack on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Saddened by the news of a cowardly attack on non-local labourers in Gagangeer, Sonmarg area. These people were working on an important infrastructure project in the area. Two people have died and two-three others are injured in this dastardly attack. I strongly condemn this attack on innocent people and express my condolences to their families.”

Previously, on Friday, the body of a migrant laborer was found in Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir. Officials stated that the body of a laborer from Bihar was recovered from the Wach area of the Zainapora region in South Kashmir. The laborer was identified as Ashok Chauhan, who resided in the Sangam area of Anantnag. Two bullet wounds were found on his body.

The Lieutenant Governor of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the killing of the non-local laborer in Shopian district on Saturday.
