The Karachi administration has imposed Section 144 in the city for two days, prohibiting gatherings and rallies.

As per a notification, this ban will be in effect on October 18 and 19. It specifically prohibits gatherings of five or more people, processions, and public meetings. The decision aims to maintain law and order and ensure public safety, as the government expressed concerns that public gatherings could be vulnerable to potential terrorist attacks.

The notification highlights that the ban is intended to safeguard lives and property amid increasing security risks.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for nationwide protests, urging citizens to demonstrate on Friday, October 18.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced that protests will take place in every district and city across the country, demanding the release of PTI founder, party leaders, and workers.

Gandapur urged the public to stand against what he described as unconstitutional amendments, warning that silence now could have dire consequences for future generations. He emphasized the need to raise voices to protect rights and the future of children.

Additionally, the Punjab government has also enforced Section 144 across the province for two days, starting from Friday, October 18. According to a notification from the Punjab Home Department, all protests, processions, and public activities are banned during this period.
