The PTI protest in Islamabad has led to dozens of cases being registered in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with hundreds of demonstrators arrested. Multiple leaders, including the founder of the PTI, are named in these cases, which include serious charges such as terrorism. Protesters reportedly attacked the police and opened fire.

The PTI protest at D-Chowk Islamabad has entered its third day. During the protests, police in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have registered numerous cases. The Rawalpindi police have included several leaders in the cases, such as the founder of the PTI, Raja Basharat, Shehryar Riaz, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Ijaz Khan Jazi, and Nasir Mahfooz.

A case has been filed against 250 to 300 workers at the Taxila police station, with over a hundred protesters arrested. The charges include severe sections related to terrorism. The FIR states that the protesters were heading to Islamabad armed with firearms and were threatening that the PTI founder and other officials had ordered them to gather in large numbers.

They warned that if not released, they would “bring down Islamabad brick by brick.” The protesters created fear and intimidation, threatening those present. They were equipped with petrol bombs and weapons, and they blocked roads. Additionally, they allegedly kidnapped police personnel and subjected them to violence.

Lahore

In Lahore, a case has been registered against the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, along with leaders and 200 workers in connection with the PTI protest.

According to details, a case has been filed at the Islam Pura police station against the PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar, leaders, and 200 workers. The case is registered under serious charges of rebellion against the state, terrorism, and attempted murder.

The case names several leaders, including PTI Chairman, Hamad Azhar, Salman Akram Raja, Ghulam Mohiuddin, MPA Shehbaz, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Sheikh Imtiaz, Ali Imtiaz, Shabbir Gujjar, and others.

The FIR states that the PTI Chairman incited these leaders to violence against the state from within jail, and these leaders chanted anti-state slogans with the workers and engaged in vandalism. Workers also injured Constable Bilal.

According to the police, 16 agitated workers were taken into custody from the scene, and further legal action against the agitated workers is ongoing.
