62-Year-old Indian woman burnt alive by sons

A 62-year-old woman was allegedly tied to a tree and set on fire by her two sons amid a suspected family dispute in India.

The incident took place on Saturday night in the Khamarbari area of West Tripura, prompting police action shortly after authorities received a tip-off.

The victim had been living with her sons since the death of her husband approximately 18 months ago.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered her burnt body tied to a tree and quickly transported it for a post-mortem examination.

Both sons have been arrested and are expected to face charges related to the brutal act.
