A man from Iran reportedly had shaken hands with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, applying a substance that allowed Israeli forces to track him, the Saudi news channel Al Hadath reported.

Following the exhumation of Nasrallah’s body, growing speculations suggested that he may have died from suffocation in severe pain, according to Channel 12 News.

Sources indicated that the poorly ventilated conditions in the location where he was found allowed gases from Israeli airstrikes to enter, ultimately leading to his suffocation.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed earlier that 20 additional terrorists were killed in the same operation targeting Hezbollah’s central headquarters.

“In a precise attack by the Air Force and under the direction of the intelligence wing, fighter jets attacked and killed the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization Hassan Nasrallah, and the commander of the southern front Ali Karachi, one of the senior commanders who remained in the organization before the attack,” it said.

“In a precise airstrike carried out by the Israeli Air Force, directed by the Intelligence Directorate, fighter jets struck and eliminated Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, and Ali Karaki, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front, who was one of the remaining senior commanders in the organization before the strike.”

Over 20 other terrorists of various ranks, who were at Hezbollah’s underground headquarters in Beirut—situated beneath civilian buildings—were also killed. They were involved in managing Hezbollah’s terrorist activities against Israel.

Among those eliminated were Ibrahim Hussein Jazini, the head of Nasrallah’s Security Unit; Samir Tawfiq Dib, Nasrallah’s long-time confidant and advisor on terrorist activities; Abed al-Amir Muhammad Sablini, the head of Hezbollah’s Force-Build Up; and Ali Naaf Ayoub, who was responsible for coordinating Hezbollah’s firepower.
