A woman impersonating an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) was arrested in Lahore after she arrived at a police office wearing a fake uniform, according to media reports.

The woman, who entered the office in police attire but was wearing fancy shoes, attempted to request that an “officer” be called outside, claiming she needed to speak with them.

Security personnel grew suspicious due to her inappropriate footwear and began questioning her. During the inquiry, the impostor could not provide any evidence to support her claims.

The Civil Lines police took the woman into custody and registered a case against her. According to the police, the impostor is a resident of Defence and an investigation was under way.

Earlier this year, a man was arrested for impersonating a police officer and robbing tourists on the highway connecting Islamabad and Haripur.
