Global stability impossible until issues like Palestine resolved, Asif says in New York

Asif further advocated for eliminating the digital divide in the world

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stressed that global stability cannot be achieved until conflicts the Palestinian issue is resolved. He also emphasized the need to reduce debt burdens for developing countries.

Speaking at the United Nations Future Summit, Asif highlighted that security issues pose a threat to future generations. He called for reforms in the global financial system to provide opportunities for developing nations.

He underscored that agreements can only bring about change when the promises made within them are fulfilled.

Asif further advocated for eliminating the digital divide and ensuring fair data governance. He also stressed the need to control artificial intelligence.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 27.

A statement released by the Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that Prime Minister Sharif will attend the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York from September 23 to 27.

The statement added that Prime Minister Sharif will reaffirm Pakistan’s multilateral support in his address to the UN General Assembly on September 27. He will also reiterate Pakistan’s support for the UN’s role in promoting global peace, security, and prosperity.

Prime Minister Sharif is currently in New York for the General Assembly session, accompanied by federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Atta Tarar, Khalid Maqbool, and Tariq Fatmi.
