Pakistan railways slashes fare

Pakistan Railways has unveiled a 10% reduction in train fares, effective September 23. This fare cut will apply to all air-conditioned classes of express and mail trains, as well as the economy classes of passenger trains.

In related developments, Pakistan Railways plans to operate 10 passenger trains under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The first phase of this privatization initiative is set to begin soon, with the trains including the Karachi Express, Awam Express, and Hazara Express, among others.

Interested parties are invited to submit applications, with technical bids to be opened on the same day.
