SC rejects appeals against removal of restaurants from National Park Area
The Supreme Court of Pakistan upheld its decision to remove restaurants including Monal, La Montana, and Gloria Jeans located in the national park area, rejecting the review petitions.
The court delivered its ruling regarding the review petitions related to commercial activities in the national park area.
It confirmed the decision to remove these restaurants and dismissed the review petitions.
Additionally, the Supreme Court retracted its earlier observations favoring the restaurants in the national park area and also withdrew the observation that would have prioritized the leasing of other locations for Monal and the other restaurants.
The ruling stated that these restaurants had voluntarily assured to close their operations within three months. Therefore, filing a review petition despite this assurance is seen as mockery toward the court, and doing so after the commitment is considered contemptuous.
