LPG price increased by Rs6.99/kg ahead of petrol price announcement

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the liquefied petroleum gas LPG price by Rs6.99 per kilogramme.

According to a notification, the household LPG cylinder price has gone up by Rs82.54. The new prices will be applicable for September.

The government is set to announce new petrol price on Sunday night as part of its fortnightly revision.

The prices of major petroleum products like petrol and high-speed diesel are expected to decrease by around Rs5 to Rs6 per litre for the third consecutive fortnight, according to media reports.

The prices of oil have decreased by $2 to $2.30 per barrel in the international market in the last fortnight. Factoring in the exchange rate and existing tax rates, the prices of both petrol and HSD are projected to come down by Rs5 to Rs5.50 per litre.
