Religious scholars urge public to defeat extremist agendas after Lasbela violence

Two people were killed in firing in Karachi on Sunday

Religious leaders from various schools of thought have strongly condemned the violent incidents that occurred during a religious rally in the Golimar area of Karachi yesterday. They have appealed to the people of Karachi to thwart the agenda of the perpetrators.

The incident took place near the Lasbela in Karachi area when a procession of a religious group was attacked, leading to widespread fear and panic. Two people were killed and eight others injured in the firing.

“The perpetrators are trying to disrupt the peace of Karachi,” said Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi.

He expressed confidence that law enforcement agencies will soon apprehend the culprits. He urged the people to remain peaceful and foil the perpetrators’ attempts to create unrest. Maulana Farooqi also requested a prompt and impartial inquiry by law enforcement agencies.

Allama Syed Nazir Abbas Taqvi also condemned the attack on the religious gathering in strong terms. He said that they will thwart the efforts of the enemy to promote sectarianism.

Maulana Taj Hanfi condemned the violence against the religious march in Golimar. Maulana Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi said that they strongly condemn sectarianism, extremism, and unrest.
