Faiz arrest army’s internal matter, doesn’t concern me: Imran

Adds that accountability should be done for all

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has defended the military’s investigation into former ISI chief General Faiz Hamid, stating that it is an internal matter and he has no involvement. However, he also called for accountability for all, including those who were allegedly involved in wrongdoing.

Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan said that General Hamid was an asset who was wasted. He further claimed that the military was conducting an internal investigation into the former ISI chief and that he had no involvement in the matter.

“It’s good that they are holding General Faiz Hamid accountable, but then they should hold everyone accountable,” Khan said, adding that there were reports from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) that the current Speaker of the Punjab Assembly was constantly meeting with former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Khan alleged that General Bajwa removed General Hamid at the behest of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, and that he had a heated argument with General Bajwa over the matter.

He also claimed that the Defense Minister supported his stance by speaking against General Bajwa’s extension.

Khan further stated that the PTI is prepared for a constitutional crisis if the Election Commission fails to allocate specific seats to the party, claiming it would be the third time the constitution has been violated.
