PM Shehbaz to provide one million smartphones to youth
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced his decision to provide one million smartphones to the youth on merit.
“All resources will be dedicated to the youth of the nation,” he said at an event on the International Youth Day in Islamabad on Monday.
“Merit-based distribution of smartphones will be made to both boys and girls,” the PM said and added that the youth would be provided opportunities to make the country prosperous.
He reiterated that 300,000 youngsters would be trained in IT in collaboration with Huawei and 1,000 agricultural graduates would be sent to China on scholarships.
The prime minister also announced that he would soon unveil an economic revival and development plan for Pakistan. “We have to learn from the past and change the destiny of the country, and our hard work will never go in vain,” he said.
The PM went on to add that efforts were being made to revive hockey in the country, as Pakistan won the gold medal after 40 years.
He praised Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem for making Pakistan proud. Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also inaugurated the Commonwealth Youth Alliance Secretariat.
