PPP’s Kaira says former spymaster may have committed serious offence
PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has stated that former spymaster Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed may have committed a serious offence as the military has initiated a court-martial against him.
Kaira, who joined Aaj News live stream after the ISPR’s shocking news, noted that the Supreme Court had previously ordered the government and military establishment to take action against those responsible in the Top City case ruling.
The allegations against retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed involve violations of the Army Act after his retirement, he said
“If the military has started a court-martial against a senior officer, then it must be a serious offence,” Kaira said and added that the initiation of such proceedings against a senior military figure suggests the gravity of the alleged wrongdoing.
Former ISI DG Hameed has been taken into military custody and the process of field general court martial has been initiated against him concerning the Top City housing scheme scandal, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
