USA artistic swimmers stun audiences with underwater moonwalk

Fans from around the world have praised their performance at 2024 Olympics in Paris

The United States artistic swimming team has captivated audiences around the world with their breathtaking performance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The team took to the pool for their technical routine on Monday, showcasing a series of intricate and visually stunning manoeuvres. But it was one particular sequence that has left viewers in awe: the underwater moonwalk.

During the routine, a group of eight Olympians made their way to the centre of the pool and proceeded to execute a flawless underwater moonwalk, defying gravity and baffling spectators with their incredible mastery of the sport.

“Team USA moonwalked upside down, underwater,” one fan said on X, accompanied by a clip of the now-viral moment. “I’ll never understand how they train for this.”

Other social media users echoed the sentiment, with one simply describing the performance as “insane,” while another dubbed it “unbelievable.” The artistic swimmers’ ability to execute such a complex and visually striking technique while submerged in water has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide.

“Can’t lie, this is pretty hard,” one impressed fan admitted, acknowledging the sheer difficulty of the manoeuvre.

Others were quick to highlight the swimmers’ exceptional body control and breathing techniques, with one user commenting, “Insane body control. Breathing technique is amazing as well.”

Even on Reddit, known for its notoriously discerning community, the routine was met with an outpouring of praise and disbelief. “Regular moonwalking is hard, I feel like they’re just laughing at me for being shit,” one fan quipped, while another joked, “Doing the moon walk upside down in water is insane, I would have literally drowned 10 seconds in.”
