Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso, 20, has been removed from the athlete village at the Paris Olympics after allegedly creating an “inappropriate” environment, according to the Paraguayan Olympic authorities.

Alonso, who surprisingly announced her retirement from swimming shortly after failing to qualify for the 100m semi-finals last week, was suspended from the village, though the details of her “inappropriate behavior” have not been publicly disclosed.

In a vague statement, Larissa Schaerer, a former Paraguayan tennis Olympian, said “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay. We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.”

Alonso has since hit back at the “lies” and “false information” surrounding her removal, though the Paraguayan Olympic committee has remained tight-lipped on the specifics of the incident.
