Govt announces massive reduction in petrol prices

The new prices will be effective from midnight

The federal government reduced the price of all four petroleum products on Wednesday.

In a notification issued by the government, the price of diesel was slashed by Rs10.86. The new price of diesel will be set at Rs272.77.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol was cut by Rs6.17. The price of petrol is now set at Rs269.43.

The price of light diesel was reduced by Rs5.72 while the price of kerosene was reduced by Rs6.32. The new prices are Rs160.53 and Rs177.39 respectively.

The reduction in fuel prices is expected to provide significant relief to the public, especially after the recent sharp increases in prices over the past two fortnights.
