‘Inside Out 2’ becomes Pixar’s highest-grossing movie ever
Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel Inside Out 2 has officially surpassed Incredibles 2 to become the studio’s highest-grossing movie of all time, media reports said.
The film has earned a staggering $1.25 billion at the global box office, making it the fourth highest-grossing animated movie ever, trailing only Frozen, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Frozen II.
The sequel, which follows the story of Riley as she navigates the complexities of adolescence, has outperformed its predecessor, the 2015 original Inside Out, which earned $859 million worldwide.
Inside Out 2 became the fastest animated film to reach the $1 billion mark, achieving this feat in less than three weeks after its release.
Amy Poehler, who reprises her role as the voice of Joy, expressed her excitement for the sequel, praising the filmmakers’ creative approach in introducing new emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Nostalgia to the beloved characters.
