Police finalizes security plans for Muharram, Baba Farid urs
Security plan for Muharram as well as for the Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar in Pakpattan has been finalised by the police.
For the Muharram processions and gatherings across the Pakpattan district, more than 3,000 personnel would perform duties, including 1 District Police Officer (DPO), 1 Superintendent of Police (SP), 4 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs), 13 Inspectors, 37 Sub-Inspectors, 100 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 113 Head Constables, 1,115 Constables, and 50 Lady Constables.
For the Urs (annual commemorative festival) of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin, an even larger force of over 1,600 police officers and officials would be deployed, including 1 DPO, 1 SP, 6 DSPs, 19 Inspectors, 67 Sub-Inspectors, 80 ASIs, 132 Head Constables, 780 Constables, and 60 Lady Constables, along with 300 patrolling officials and traffic police officers, and 179 civil defense personnel.
The details about the security arrangements for the Muharram processions and the Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin were disclosed by the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Sahiwal, Mahboobul Rashid, and the Commissioner of Sahiwal, Shoaib Iqbal Syed.
They jointly chaired a meeting to review the security plans for the Urs event.
During the meeting, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Pakpattan, Tariq Wilayat, briefed the officials about the security arrangements and law and order measures that would be in place for both the Muharram observances and the Urs festival.

The DPO assured that the best possible security arrangements would be made for pilgrims from across the country to attend the annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar in Pakpattan.
He directed the security personnel to perform their duties with dedication and to take proactive measures to ensure the convenience and safety of the women and elderly pilgrims.
