After Pakistan’s disastrous performance at the T20 World Cup, where they suffered shocking defeats against the USA and India, the fallout has reached the halls of the National Assembly.

PPP lawmaker Abdul Qadir Patel took the opportunity to publicly troll captain Babar Azam during the assembly session. Patel suggested a bizarre remedy inspired by former prime minister Imran Khan’s actions in 2022.

Patel humorously proposed that Babar should mimic Imran Khan’s gesture of waving a document at a rally to claim a conspiracy against him.

“Babar Azam should take a lesson from one of his senior cricketers [hinting at Imran Khan] and throw a party after losing where he should wave some documents in public, stating, ‘There’s been a conspiracy against me.’ No one will question him after that, and the matter will be over,” Patel said.

The cricket debacle has sparked questions about Babar’s future as captain, but so far the cricket board has not made any statements.
